REFLECTION AND PERSPECTIVE

Looking back on the lectures, assessments, and projects given during this difficult semester, I am grateful that the many barriers that arose as a result of the situation at hand were minimized to the greatest extent possible, thanks to the lecturers', tutors', and students' continued cooperation. Although not as effective as regular face-to-face sessions in the studio, I understand that online learning has become the new norm in the current situation. As a result, I respect the lecturers and tutors for going to such great lengths.

On that note, I applaud my tutors and module coordinators for going above and beyond to provide online learning, even preparing lecture slides and setting up submission boxes on time and in great detail. They have worked extremely hard to ensure a smooth learning experience throughout the semester.

ASSIGNMENTS AND PROJECTS

SKETCHING ANALYSIS

We were tasked with conducting research and sketching analyses on a number of significant historical structures. We had to use a variety of architectural vocabularies to refer to specific styles, features, and periods throughout the analysis. As a result, it was expected that the analysis would reveal a clear timeline of architectural representations.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS REPORT

Students were required to create an illustrative booklet depicting two historical buildings in a modern Malaysian context in order to clearly display their architectural features and influences for this report. Students were expected to use appropriate architectural vocabulary and consider the various design factors that contributed to the buildings' final forms.
