ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN III
This subject addresses spatial typologies and poetics in architecture and focuses on the community and neighbourhood contexts. It is about the genius loci towards a place. Additionally, it highlights how crucial programmes and sites are in architectural design.

PROJECT 1
EXPERIENCING SPACE : THE POETIC JOURNEY STRUCTURE
TUTOR : MR LIU NGEE SONG
Project 1's main theme is "Experiencing Space." Propose a spatial excursion in groups of 4-5 students, paying special attention to spatial poetics in architecture as it relates to the topic. Determine and explain various "modifying components" in architecture, their effects on spatial use and experience, and at least two (2) antecedent works on spatial poetics in architecture per student. Students then construct a spatial expressions trip using a variety of spatial attributes that have an effect on the uses and experience parameters of space.
I have a solid understanding of how modifying components are used in architecture and how spatial poetics affects architectural design thanks to this project. Designing with the usage of spatial poetics can improve a user's experiences in space and provide the environment, the site, and the user a deeper sense of purpose.
Along with the design, effective group participation is crucial. Even though there are many conflicts and disagreements, holding dialogues to resolve the issues is always the best course of action since it allows everyone to learn from them, comprehend each other's viewpoints, and take them into account.

PROJECT 2
EXPERIENCING PLACE : THE DISCOVERY CENTRE
For their final project, each student must investigate the architectural response to the site's setting and the programmatic needs of a modest, single-volume public facility that will serve as the location's visitor information centre. The building's goal is to display interpretive materials relevant to the specific context or location. Design solutions that integrate site, programme, and spatial poetics are prioritised.

REFLECTION
This is the first project I've ever worked on where the context of the neighbourhood is important. In fact, I'm not very adept at incorporating the local settings, culture, and history into my designs. Even though the results are not flawless, I am content with what I have accomplished this semester since at least I put work and knowledge into each project. This is the learning process, and I am doing it step by step.
Designing a building that fits the site requires a thorough understanding of the site circumstances, as well as the history and culture of the location. Understanding of the design and concept is improved by producing clear drawings and giving ideas with ease.
This project has helped me learn more about passive design methods, how to use materials and structures to give a space meaning and texture, and how crucial a building's structure is. It has been an educational semester.
I appreciate everything I have learned this semester, and I will use it to my advantage in the assignments I have coming up.
