SKETCHING ANALYSIS
We were tasked with conducting research and sketching analyses on a number of significant historical structures. We had to use a variety of architectural vocabularies to refer to specific styles, features, and periods throughout the analysis. As a result, it was expected that the analysis would reveal a clear timeline of architectural representations.
PROGRESS
I went over the historical buildings listed to make my final choices after going over the brief in a tutorial session. Then I began looking for relevant information about the structures, such as the architects involved, their unique features, and their impact on the architectural context at the time. To make the writing process easier, I gathered the information and paraphrased it appropriately.
After conducting extensive research, I began to neatly organize the information on paper. I made it a point to maintain a consistent format throughout all of the building analyses, including the fast facts and geographic location sections. To improve visual balance within the paper, the data was organized in a grid format.
Finally, after several tutorials of intense discussion with my tutor, my sketches were approved, and I began outlining them with felt tip pens, making sure that the line weights were used appropriately. After that, I used felt markers to color in the relevant sections of the sketches.
